The book I will Always Write Back by Caitlin Alifirenka and Martin Ganda with Liz Welch is a true story.
This book is about two kids who randomly get paired at their schools to be pen pals. The girl (Caitlin) is twelve years old and lives in Pennsylvania; Martin is a fourteen year old boy who lives in Zimbabwe. As they write back and forth they realize how different their countries really are. Caitlin sends Martin and his poor family some money and then everything changes. One dollar in America is twenty dollars in Zimbabwe. Martin starts getting an education that his family could never afford. But Caitlin and her family have bigger plans: they plan to bring Martin to Pennsylvania! Will Martin come to meet Caitlin? I recommend this book to 4th graders and up.
This sounds like a really good book, Brielle! I also read a book like this... I forget what is was called, but I think it was by Andrew Clements. Do you know him? I have read most of his books... They are so funny!!
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying your book reviews, Brielle! Please post more! I love to get more books to read, because I am currently not reading a book, and I think this book will be next on my list! Also, just wondering... have you read the book The Seventh Wish? If not, I really recommend it! I really like books by Kate Messner.

I'm so glad you're are looking at my blog for your next reads. I have heard that Andrew Clementines is a great author and my brother enjoys listing to some of his books. I have read a couple too. The Seventh Wish sounds like a great book and I hope read it soon!
