Tara and Bella

Tarra and Bella, by Carol Buckley, is a remarkable true story of a dog and an elephant who became best friends. Tarra, the elephant, was the first elephant to arrive at the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. As more elephants arrived they each found best friend. But Tarra never found a best friend until a stray dog appeared at her side. In this book readers will learn how two very different animals (Tarra and Bella) formed an inseparable bond. I recommend this book to preschoolers and up.
