Out Of My Mind by Sharon M Draper is a fascinating book about an almost eleven-year old girl named Melody. 
In this book you get Melody's perspective. Melody is in 5th grade at Spaulding Street Elementary School. She was born with cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a disability where you can't walk, talk and sometimes where you can't control your body. Mrs. V, Melody's neighbor and former nurse starts to help her communicate with her parents. Will Melody soon be able to talk and maybe even walk? 
I recommend this book to 3rd graders and up.
